Nobilis TRT- Description and vaccination schedule
Nobilis TRT is a live attenuated freeze dried vaccine containing at least 2.5 log10 TCID50 of aMPV virus strain BUT 1#8544 per dose, used for meat turkeys and as a priming dose in turkey poults.
Eye-drop and coarse spray are the methods of choice for administration. The drinking water method may be used for revaccination.
Maternally derived antibodies do not interfere with the response to vaccination.
Precautions
To avoid possible interference with live Newcastle Disease (ND) vaccination, it is suggested that an interval of at least 10 days should be allowed between vaccinations with live Nobilis TRT and live ND vaccines.
General
The disease cause by an Avian Metapneumovirus infection in turkeys is referred to as Turkey Rhinotracheitis (TRT). TRT is a complex disease. Field infections are often accompanied by infection with other respiratory pathogens, which leads to severe clinical symptoms. In field trials, Nobilis TRT and Nobilis TRT inac, used in combination with ND vaccine, were shown to be highly effective in protecting against field challenge.

Vaccination program
The first vaccination with a live vaccine can be carried out as early as 1 day old in the hatchery. This ensures a homogenous vaccine administration and an early on set of immunity.
Meat turkeys
Two vaccinations with Nobilis TRT vaccine with an interval of 5 to 6 weeks between. The first vaccination can be carried out as early as 1 day old.
Turkey breeders
A minimum of one vaccination with Nobilis TRT live vaccine as a priming dose. Inactivated Nobilis TRT inac or
Nobilis TRT+ND should be administered before the onset of lay at 28 - 30 weeks.
